Autism and Special needs
Knowledge, patience, understanding.
We believe that these are key fundamentals when working with and supporting clients with Autism, the spectrum is so vast every client is different and will have varying needs and levels of support required.
We have worked with many service users with Autism and are equipped with the knowledge and experience to train our staff to the standard required when working with Blue Chess and a service user, some clients may require more support than others so our interview and evaluation process is used to determine the level of support required before any support plan is put in place. We will work closely with a clients family to understand their autism, learning disabilities or associated complex needs, we believe it is important that a clients family have as much or as little involvement on day to day care of their loved one as they or the client feels the need, our support is always extended to the immediate family.
We do as much as we can to take away the day to day challenges a family may be facing easing the pressure and giving them the break that they may desperately need, we understand how hard it is to care for a loved one with such complexed needs daily, it is a burden that no one should shoulder alone.
Autism might not make sense to people that are not on the spectrum but understanding that it makes sense to those that are is important, the world can look and work in a different way for them and their thought pattern and behaviours may seem unusual to us but they are perfectly normal to them, when bearing this in mind when supporting a client with Autism helps to make their support session a pleasant and easy one.
